DC is a national stage for events, but is also a city with nearly 700,000 residents who call this place home (and is also experienced by hundreds of thousands of commuters, visiting tourists, and day-trippers). Looking at the city with the perspective of the Jewish value Zachor (memory) reminds us that here in our capital city, our landscape holds the memories of an entire nation. The past continues to live within us, and we have the responsibility to carry each other’s stories forward. In this tour we will stop at many monuments and memorials and reflect on our collective memory.
