In honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 150th of the museum’s historic synagogue, CJM will display the 1976 Bicentennial Tapestry designed and worked by the Jewish Bicentennial Commission of Greater Washington. The dramatic 10 x 14-foot needlework tapestry stitches together—literally—the ideas of patriotism, Jewish life, and American opportunity. Bring your own craft project (knitting, drawing supplies, embroidery… the possibilities are endless) and join other crafty folks for an evening of creativity and connection. Don’t have a craft of your own? CJM will have a collage station where you can make anything you want!
